Transitioning Your Skin From Winter To Spring

Transitioning Your Skin From Winter To Spring
By Tamar Vezirian

Spring has sprung! If you are as excited as I am, you have pulled out your spring fashion essentials and are longing to ditch your winter coat. However, winter tends to be just as cold and cruel on your skin as it is on your morning commute. So as you swap your sweaters for short-sleeves, examine the state of your skin. You might find it dull, dry, cracked, or irritated. Here are some helpful hints and products that will get you ready to bare arms.

Dull or Lackluster Skin: Make sure you use an exfoliating scrub to remove dead skin cells. This will help eliminate flakes and dryness, allowing your natural skin to truly glow. I recommend Philosophy's Hot Salt Tub and Shower Scrub. It feels amazing and the pink lemonade scent will really get you ready for spring.

Red, Irritated, or Sensitive Skin: Say goodbye to winter's harshness and hello to hydration. Use a moisturizer packed with shea butter, like Aveeno Naturals Skin Relief 24 Hours Moisturizing Lotion. You can also go that extra step with a spring water spray like La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water for anti-oxidant protection.

Dry or Cracked Skin  A non-oily balm works wonders on even the driest skin. Look for ingredients like chamomile and aloe and avoid perfumes and dyes. I recommend Buckler's Chapped Skin remedy, which is smooth enough to trust even with heels and elbows.

Once your skin is healthy and ready to shine, schedule that airbrush tanning session and feel confident baring your glow for spring!
